  • New Aston Martin Vantage spotted
  • New front-end design
  • Coupe and Volante convertible testing
  • V8 engine expected to stay
  • More the 510hp possible
  • On sale later this year

This is the new Aston Martin Vantage, the second new car to come from the British brand this year after the new DB12, and it’s expected to go on sale by the end of this year.

This alternative to the Porsche 911 and Ferrari Roma is getting a new design, however it’s expected to retain the twin-turbo V8 engine from the current car.

New Aston Martin Vantage design

You can tell that the new Aston Martin Vantage will be getting a pretty heavy makeover, even with the camouflage covering up a lot of the details.

The grille is mounted higher up the front bumper and has been given a different shape to the current car’s, and the headlights look more swept-back than the vertical units on the current car.

It retains the same side profile as the current car. The long bonnet and flared wheel arches are carried over, as are the flush-fitting door handles. The rear window line appears to be covered with the wrap, so this may be altered for the production version.

At a glance, the rear end of the new Vantage looks exactly the same. It still has the flowing full-width light bar and aggressive lower diffuser, as well as the quad tailpipes. This rear bumper may just be fitted for testing purposes though, so it could change on the final car.

As well as the coupe, the Volante soft-top convertible has also been seen testing as well.

The roofline doesn’t quite flow as well as the coupe, sloping more sharply into the rear deck. With the cloth roof, it doesn’t look quite as cohesive as the coupe, but will allow for top-down driving and you can enjoy the V8 grumble.

The rear deck is flatter too, which will hold the roof when you have it folded away.

New Aston Martin Vantage engine and performance

Although Aston Martin will be bringing a new plug-in hybrid to market in 2024, and a new electric car in 2025, don’t expect to see any electrification on the new Vantage.

It’s likely to retain a similar 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 as the current car. It has 510hp at the moment, and it’ll do 0-60mph in 3.8 seconds, however the new Vantage could get a tuned version of this engine with a bit more power.

New Aston Martin Vantage interior and infotainment

No images have surfaced just yet of the new Aston Martin Vantage’s interior, however you can expect it have use a similar design to the DB12’s cabin.

You can expect the new Vantage to have a similar cabin to the Aston Martin DB12 (pictured)

That car has a tall centre console with an all-new infotainment system, the first to be designed in-house by Aston Martin, and you can expect to see lashings of leather used throughout.

When can I buy a new Aston Martin DB12?

You can expect the new Aston Martin Vantage to go on sale towards the end of 2023, with first deliveries starting at the beginning of next year.

As for price, it’s a bit too early to say at the moment. It’ll likely fetch a premium over the current car though, so somewhere around £150,000 is a safe bet. The Volante will likely command a premium on top of the coupe, probably in the region of £5,000 on top of the coupe’s price.
