  • New Dacia Duster spotted testing
  • Third generation of the budget SUV
  • Styling inspired by the Bigster concept
  • New hybrid engines possible
  • On sale in 2024

This is the new Dacia Duster. It’s the third generation of the SUV, and it looks as though it’ll share styling details with the Dacia Bigster concept.

This alternative to cars such as the Nissan Juke and Seat Ateca could also be offered with a new hybrid system.

New Dacia Duster design

This new Dacia Duster will retain mostly the same proportions as the current car, however you can tell that it’ll have a much more modern design.

The new Duster seems to have a similar grille to the Bigster concept (pictured)

There’s a new, more slim grille at the front which looks a bit like the one found on the new Bigster concept, and the headlights look more swept back as well.

Down the side, you can see that this new Duster has a more sporty-looking sloping rear end than the current car, with a pretty big roof spoiler also visible. The rear door handles are disguised in the C-pillar for a more modern appearance.

It’s at the rear that you can see the biggest changes, with the funky-looking C-shaped tail lights emulating those seen on the Bigster. You can ignore that massive exhaust protruding from the rear bumper like Pingu’s beak, it’ll just be for testing.

The taillights also look similar to the Bigster’s (pictured)

New Dacia Duster engines

Not much is known about the engine lineup for the new Dacia Duster, other than the fact it’ll keep using internal combustion engines.

You can expect to see a similar range of 1.0-litre and 1.3-litre petrol engines, possible with mild hybrid assistance, and the 1.5-litre diesel may also stay.

This new Duster will share some parts with the Renault Clio, meaning a 1.5-litre self-charging hybrid could also be on the cards. A similar setup is also offered in the Dacia Jogger.

When will the new Dacia Duster go on sale?

You can expect to see the new Dacia Duster make its debut in the middle of next year, with sales possibly starting in the summer of 2024.

As for pricing, it’s a bit too early too early to say right now. You can expect it to fetch a premium over the current car though, with a number of around £20,000 possible.
