  • New Renault Scenic E-Tech revealed
  • Electric family SUV
  • Similar styling to Vision Scenic concept
  • Infotainment system shared with Megane
  • More than 379 miles of range
  • On sale in early 2024

The new Renault Scenic E-Tech is here, and it’s an alternative to electric family cars like the Skoda Enyaq and Nissan Ariya.

It gets a similar interior design to the smaller Megane E-Tech, and it can go up to 379 miles before charging.

New Renault Scenic E-Tech design

The new Renault Scenic E-Tech looks a lot like the Renault Vision Scenic concept from last year, so it’s a pretty bold-looking SUV.

The slim headlights are neatly blended into a gloss black trim strip across the bonnet, and you have some angular LED running lights integrated into a panel below that. There’s no prominent grille at the front, just a funky-looking honeycomb pattern.

It has a slightly more boxy side profile than the smaller Megane E-Tech, something which should help with rear headroom. The 20-inch alloy wheels have been designed to slip through the air as easily as possible, and the flush-fitting door handles further help the aerodynamics.

The arrow-shaped tail lights look almost identical to the ones fitted to the Vision Scenic concept, and the large spoiler elevates the sportiness even further. There will be six colours available: red, blue, black, gloss grey, matte grey and white.

New Renault Scenic E-Tech interior and infotainment

The new Renault Scenic’s cabin looks pretty similar to the Megane’s. You have a similar infotainment system to that car, although it has a larger screen than you can get on the Megane in the UK.

You have a 12.0-inch portrait touchscreen with Google built-in, paired with a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display. The wood trim on the doors adds a premium touch as well.

New Renault Scenic E-Tech motors and batteries

The new Renault Scenic E-Tech is available with two motor and battery combinations. The entry-level car uses a 170hp motor with a 60kWh battery. Renault says that it’ll do more than 279 miles on a charge. That’s almost exactly the same as the Megane E-Tech.

Then there’s the High Range model. It has a more powerful 220hp motor, paired with an 87kWh battery, and it has more than 379 miles of range. That’s 40 miles more than the Skoda Enyaq can manage.

When will the Renault Scenic E-Tech go on sale?

The new Renault Scenic E-Tech will go on sale in early 2024, with deliveries expected to start by the spring.

Prices haven’t been announced just yet, however expect to see a figure of around £45,000. That places it above the smaller Megane, and in line with the Skoda Enyaq.
